West represented at MFHEA’s RPL Annual Event 2026

June 11 2006 – West Business School is pleased to announce that Mr Francesco Sacco attended the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Annual Event 2026 – T.R.A.C.E. (Transforming Recognition and Acknowledging Credentials in Education and Employment), organised by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA).

The event was held on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, at the Salini Resort in Bugibba, Malta, and ran from 08:30 to 15:30. It brought together Further and Higher Education Institutions, RPL practitioners, candidates, and policymakers, all united by a common goal: advancing the recognition of prior learning across Malta by valuing experience and rewarding knowledge.

The programme featured presentations from leading local practitioners and foreign experts, with contributions drawing on RPL experience from Ireland, Austria, and Sweden, as well as from the University of Malta, the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), and the Institute for Education. Attendees also took part in interactive Q&A sessions, listened to first-hand testimonials from RPL candidates, and followed an expert panel discussion exploring the future of recognition, credentials, and quality practice in professional learning.
Beyond the formal programme, the event offered valuable networking opportunities, allowing education providers and policymakers to exchange perspectives on how prior learning — whether gained through work, training, or life experience — can open new pathways in education and employment.

Mr Sacco’s participation reflects West Business School’s ongoing commitment to quality assurance and learner-centred education. Recognition of Prior Learning enables individuals to have the knowledge, skills, and competences they have acquired outside traditional classrooms formally assessed and recognised — reducing barriers to further study and supporting lifelong learning.

By engaging directly with MFHEA initiatives and with the wider community of practitioners, West Business School remains aligned with national and European best practices in RPL, ensuring that its learners benefit from flexible, accessible, and quality-assured pathways to qualifications.
West Business School thanks the MFHEA for organising this important event and looks forward to continued collaboration in strengthening the recognition of prior learning in Malta.
